Darkness Falls
Darkness Falls artwork explores the contrast between a warm autumn forest and the darkness settling in above it. Rust, gold and earthy tones form a dense canopy, while slender tree trunks disappear into the softer landscape below. I wanted the painting to feel like that brief moment when daylight starts to fade and the landscape changes with it. The dark upper section creates a heavier mood, while the open space below keeps the composition from feeling too dense. Loose marks and layered colour give the trees texture without defining every individual detail.
