Gumball Machine Drawing is a detailed study of reflection, transparency and form. The glass globe sits at the centre of the composition, surrounded by candy jars and smaller objects that fill the scene. I used shifts in light and shadow to define the different surfaces. Strong highlights create the reflections in the glass, while gradual shading gives the gumballs their rounded shape. The darker background helps bring those details forward and adds depth to the composition.
