Scattered
Scattered Drawing brings together a collection of strange characters and creatures in a dense black-and-white composition. Some forms repeat, while others appear only briefly between larger figures. The strong contrast makes each shape stand out while allowing the whole piece to merge into a larger pattern. I like how the drawing changes depending on where you focus. From a distance, the figures almost become texture. Up close, individual characters begin to emerge, along with smaller details that are easy to miss the first time around. That tension between the overall pattern and all the little discoveries is a big part of the piece.
