Transition is an original mixed media artwork made as a set of four 24″ × 24″ canvases. I built the composition around an oversized moon rising behind a dark, textured landscape, with warmer tones moving through the horizon beneath a nearly black sky. Across the four canvases, the moon acts as the main source of light and pulls the composition together. The rough surface of the moon contrasts with the vertical marks of the landscape below, while muted reds and warm earth tones create a narrow transition between the two.
