Joey Ramone
Joey Ramone Artwork is a mixed media portrait inspired by the unmistakable frontman of the Ramones. Joey stands at the centre of the piece, surrounded by layers of photographs, posters, graphics and references to the band’s history. I built the background almost like a collage of memories, using overlapping imagery and texture to capture some of the raw energy associated with Joey and the Ramones. The mostly black-and-white portrait stands against warmer, distressed layers, giving the piece the feeling of an old concert wall covered with years of posters and memorabilia.
