Toronto is an original mixed media painting built around one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks, the CN Tower. I kept the skyline low in the composition, letting the tower rise through layers of white, grey and warm gold across the canvas. Rather than painting the city as a traditional skyline, I wanted to play with its shapes, textures and architecture. The buildings become more detailed toward the bottom of the piece, while the looser surface above gives the composition room to open up around the CN Tower.
